Touch'n'Keep
72 Piece Magnets with Adhesive Backing
Check out the blog post for more information! If you have any questions, please ask me here and I'll try my best to answer!I love doing crafts and have wanted to do some with magnets but there are so many to choose from on Amazon I wasn’t sure which would be good for my needs. When I was given the opportunity to try these magnets out from Touch’n’Keep I was really thrilled to see what they'd be like.
You receive 72 flexible, rubber magnets packaged in a thick, white envelope... almost like a thin cardboard. Each square measures 1 inch or 25 mm. Because they are rubber they have flexibility to them but they do mainly keep their shape of a square. You can cut them to a smaller size, however be aware that you will not have the full strength. Each square can hold objects up to 10 g. If you can use more than one square for your project this will increase the possible object weight that it can hold.
The opposite side of the magnet has the adhesive backing. It’s strong enough for postcards, photos, paper and most surfaces that are flat. You may find yourself needing to use glue if you’re going to try to attach these to something with a rough texture. When I attached them to the back of construction paper, the magnets stuck perfectly in place. However when I attach them to the back of some very light weight squishy toys, I ended up needing to use glue. Even though these toys were lightweight, they did not have the right surface for the adhesive to stick to properly.
Unless you’re going to use most or all of the magnets quickly, be careful when taking the sheet out of the envelope and putting it back in. The backing paper is extremely thin and therefore does not keep it’s flat shape. This makes it difficult to move it around and place back in the envelope. My sheet of magnets were slightly off the edge of the table and gravity pulled them down to the floor. Most of the magnets came off of the backing paper and I had to scramble to pick them up being careful not to touch the adhesive. I fully believe that if the backing paper had been set on a thick piece of cardboard itself, it would have kept its shape and not drooped down off the edge of the table and fallen like a slinky toy. So minus 1 star for this ordeal & flawed design.
The company does offer a 30 day guarantee to return with no questions asked. They don’t say exactly how to initiate the return process on their listing but I would imagine you would just contact them through the Amazon messaging service if you needed to return these.
Overall, I’m happy with these magnets and they’ve given me some experience now of what I should look forward to if I decide to purchase more from this seller or if I want to seek out different shapes or strengths in other magnets.
