Several years ago, I had a pet water fountain & my cats really liked it. After only a short time however, it broke. Mainly because there was no filter or proper way to clean it. It was poorly designed! So, I wasn't sure if I should invest in another one until I saw THIS fountain from Ownpets!
It came with 2 carbon filters & a VERY easy to follow owners manual. It also has a larger "pre-filter sponge" that helps to catch the larger debris such as hair, dust or food particles before it reaches the pump! The motor for the fountain is whisper quiet & the water barely makes a trickle sound. I like that it has TWO spouts where the water comes out vs just one. We have 5 cats & this makes it much easier for them to share the flowing stream. The material of the drinking fountain is BPA-free PP, top-shelf dishwasher safe. Plus, the pieces can easily be disassembled for cleaning. The power of the fountain is only 3W - which means it is low-consumption and environmental friendly! It can hold a total of 3 liters or about 0.8 gallons of water at a time.
This could be used for either dogs or cats, but personally I believe it would be better for cats given the size & also how "sloppy" dogs can drink, your filters may not last as long. But again, this is just my personal opinion! :)
